Greetings From the Director of IEPD:

Welcome to our website! I hope we can work together to provide quality professional development which meets your needs.

Our staff includes highly qualified and experienced early childhood professionals. Their work experience includes years of direct teaching experience in the field including center-based care, family child care, public preschool, school-age, special education, Head Start and military child care.

Staff members have taught college classes, presented at state and national conferences, and conducted accreditation observations. We offer a statewide CDA certification course, and collaborate with state and private agencies that support early childhood and school-age education and care.

In addition, our staff is certified to administer and train on the ASQ, Creative Curriculum Assessment and Curriculum, High/Scope Curriculum and COR Assessment System, as well as online learning through the Blackboard Learning System.

We offer various formats for trainings to meet the variety of adult learning needs including “face to face” and online courses, train the trainer sessions, workshops, conferences, individual and program mentoring and consultation, and module trainings.

Our training experience includes collaboration with family child care systems, Community Partnership Councils, Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies, state agencies, child care centers, public preschool programs, school-age programs, and other early education and care settings.

Please feel free to contact us regarding our current professional development opportunities or to discuss developing one that better suits the needs of you, your staff, or the community you serve. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are offered for all trainings of five hours or more.

Courses are available in English and Spanish.
We look forward to working with you as we strive to achieve our goal of improving quality of care in the field of early childhood and school age care and education.

Sincerely,
Jody Figuerido, M.Ed.
